On her first official visit to the UK, US First Lady Michelle Obama, broke protocol by placing her arm around the Queen when she met her at the Buckingham Palace. However, stunned onlookers witnessed the Queen reciprocating the gesture. In 57 years, Queen Elizabeth II has never been seen to make any such gesture. In fact, the former Australian PM in 2000 got plenty of criticism and earned the moniker 'The Lizard of OZ' for having done a Michelle Obama.
